The procedure and rules for obtaining a Green Card in the USA have been tightened

The United States has announced significant changes to the procedure for obtaining a Green Card, the document granting the right to permanent residence in the country. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Under the new rules now in effect, foreign nationals wishing to change their immigration status must submit their applications not while residing in the United States, but from their home countries. This measure is intended to further tighten the processes of entry and lawful stay in the country.
According to official information from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, all applications must now be submitted from abroad through the State Department’s special online portal. As of now, individuals currently in the United States on temporary visas who wish to obtain permanent residency must return to their home countries to continue the process from there.
This requirement aims to eliminate irregularities in the immigration system. Officials from the Department of Homeland Security commented on the innovation, emphasizing that the new rules are necessary to ensure the immigration system operates within the law and to reduce the potential for abuse of existing loopholes.
The government states that this will help control the flow of incoming migrants and ensure transparency in the process. These measures are viewed as the next step in strengthening national security.
However, the new policy has not been welcomed by everyone. In particular, influential organizations that assist migrants and refugees have sharply criticized the change.
Human rights advocates argue that such strict restrictions could pose a serious threat to victims of human trafficking, women fleeing various forms of persecution, and children in need of protection. They stress that requiring applicants to return to their home countries may put their lives at risk.
Despite this, official authorities insist on the strict implementation of the new rules.
