Attacks on Indian diplomat sparked outrage

India's Ministry of External Affairs summoned the head of Iran's diplomatic mission in New Delhi, Zamin.uz reported.
The move follows attacks on commercial vessels operating in the Hormuz Strait region. India expressed serious concern over the incidents, emphasizing that such actions threaten regional security.
An official spokesperson for the ministry, Randhir Jaiswal, told journalists that the Indian government had conveyed its strong protest to the leadership of the Iranian embassy. He added that any actions undermining maritime security are considered a violation of international law norms.
India expects those responsible to be held accountable. The diplomatic mission condemned the attacks on the cargo ships MSC Sabrina and MSC Porto Belo.
According to official information, a total of thirty Indian nationals were aboard the two vessels. Tragically, one Indian seafarer lost his life as a result of the armed attack.
The situation is being regarded by the country's society and government as a very serious tragedy. The Indian government considers ensuring the safety of its citizens in international waters to be a top priority.
At present, the situation at sea is being monitored closely, and additional security measures are being considered by the relevant authorities. The Ministry of External Affairs stated it will continue consultations with international partners to maintain stability in the region.
The incident holds significant importance in diplomatic relations between the two countries, with India demonstrating its firm stance in protecting its interests.
