Donald Trump declared English as the official language of the USA

US President Donald Trump signed a decree recognizing English as the official language for the first time in the country's history, the White House reported. The decree emphasizes that a common language "strengthens national values" and "creates a better society."

Additionally, Trump revoked an executive order signed by former President Bill Clinton in 2000, which required federal agencies and all organizations receiving federal budget assistance to provide translation assistance to citizens who do not speak English. Now, whether to provide services in other languages is left to the discretion of agency leadership.

According to reports, more than 30 states in the US had already recognized English as the official language, but this is the first time it has been implemented at the federal level.
