Genesis is voluntarily recalling 181 imported G80, GV80, GV70, and electric GV70 vehicles in China, according to SpeedMe. These vehicles were produced between January 25, 2023, and June 19, 2024. The reason for the recall is a software malfunction in the instrument panel, which may cause disruptions when the vehicle is started and may fail to display important information such as speed and warnings. This poses a safety threat.
As part of this campaign, Genesis will provide free software updates for all affected vehicles. No additional measures are required for vehicles that have already been updated. The recall is being conducted in accordance with China's defective product laws and is aimed at enhancing safety.
