eBay has become a taxpayer in the Uzbekistan market

Now the company will pay VAT here. More precisely, the VAT will be paid by the buyers, as this tax is added to the final price of the goods.

Along with eBay, 63 other foreign internet companies have registered with the VAT office, including: Netflix, Amazon, Google, Apple, Zoom, and others.

During the first 9 months of 2024, these companies generated a total revenue of 850 billion soums in Uzbekistan and paid 102 billion soums in taxes. Overall, their annual growth averages about double.

However, time will show how this situation will unfold, as electronic commerce companies are required to have a legal entity in Uzbekistan. So far, neither eBay nor Amazon has such a legal entity.
