The amount of unpaid taxes in Uzbekistan amounts to 8.5 trillion soums. This was announced by Mubin Mirzaev, the first deputy chairman of the Tax Committee, during a meeting with journalists in Tashkent on April 1.

According to him, the overdue tax debts this year will not exceed 10 percent.

“Currently, there are unpaid taxes amounting to 8.5 trillion soums. In March, for the first time, debts were reduced by 140 billion soums. Overall, tax debts increased to some extent in 2024, but we have strict plans to control this and not exceed 10 percent in 2025,” said the committee representative.

According to the Tax Committee, as of March 1, 2025, the number of manufacturing enterprises with tax debts exceeding 100 million soums is 978. Their total debt exceeds 1.3 trillion soums. Additionally, 385.5 billion soums (28.2 percent) of this debt is accounted for by only 10 large enterprises.

The situation in the construction sector is similar. The number of construction enterprises with tax debts exceeding 100 million soums is 1,091. Their total debt has exceeded 1.1 trillion soums. Of this, 506.1 billion soums (42.7 percent) falls on the largest 10 enterprises.

Including:

Of this:

  • 62.4 billion soums belong to employees of state budget organizations,
