The procedure for considering school grades during the admission process to higher education institutions in the Republic of Uzbekistan has been canceled. This was reported by Upl.uz.
This was announced by Doctor of Legal Sciences Khushnudbek Khudoyberdiyev. He reported this change based on the decision of the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, dated July 19.
Previously, the procedure for considering students' academic performance over the last six years was approved by the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers on November 19, 2021. According to this procedure, starting from the 2022/2023 academic year, the average grades of graduates during the 11 years of compulsory education were to be included in the certificate, and these indicators were to be added to the exam scores for admission to higher education institutions.
Khushnudbek Khudoyberdiyev emphasized that this practice could have allowed applicants to receive an additional 3, 4, or 5 points based on their average school grades. However, after the implementation of the procedure for considering school grades was postponed for two years in 2023, it was decided to completely abandon this practice.
Thus, applicants will be admitted to higher education institutions solely based on the results of entrance exams, and school academic achievements will not be taken into account. This decision aims to ensure fairness and transparency in the education system.
