On April 2, in the Porloq neighborhood of the Davlatobod district of Namangan region, a Nexia-3 car driven by a school student crossed into the opposite lane and collided with a freight truck.
In the video footage from the Namangan regional traffic police, the collision of the car with the truck and the truck dragging it for several meters can be seen.
As a result of the collision, the school students, who were the driver and passenger of the light vehicle, were hospitalized in serious condition. One of them was found to have a skull and jaw fracture, as well as fractures in the shin bones.
According to officials, the citizen who rented the car to the school students had also rented the vehicle himself. He charged the students 150,000 soums for the rental, while an 11th-grade student who acted as an intermediary received 70,000 soums. The father of the young man who rented out the car and the truck driver appealed to the public, asking not to allow young children to sit behind the wheel.
