“Rostov” midfielder Konstantin Kuchaev commented to “Match TV” after the match against Zenit. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
He emphasized that he was dissatisfied with the result of the game. He stated that “Rostov” played well against one of the strongest teams in Russia during the match.
Although he was not completely satisfied with the result, he said the team deserved at least a draw. He acknowledged that the team, which tried to play with high pressure at the beginning of the first and second halves, reduced that pressure in the final minutes of the game.
He mentioned that he was not sure about the reason for this, suggesting it might be due to fear of conceding a goal or other factors. He stressed the need to apply more pressure at that moment.
In response to a question about converting goal opportunities, he noted that sometimes luck was also lacking, citing an instance where Suleymanov's shot in the penalty area deflected off a defender. Importantly, he stated that the attackers continue to create chances and expressed confidence that they would score in the next game.
In the end, Kuchaev apologized for the ball hitting the girl during the training and expressed his desire to personally find her and apologize.
