Atletico Madrid is continuing negotiations with Chelsea regarding the transfer of defender Renato Veiga. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
According to L’Équipe, the Spanish club has already made two offers, with the latest one valued at 35 million euros including bonuses. However, Chelsea is not ready to let the 21-year-old Portuguese player go for that amount.
The London club aims to receive at least 40 million euros for the player. Atletico is actively looking to strengthen their defense line, and Veiga is currently one of their priority options.
Veiga played on loan at Juventus in Turin during the second half of last season and appeared in 13 matches in Serie A. His transfer is considered to serve to strengthen the team's defense.
In the current transfer window, Atletico is utilizing all possibilities to add Veiga to their squad. Meanwhile, negotiations regarding the price and terms are ongoing between the parties.
This transfer aims to further strengthen the Madrid team's defense line.
