Former CSKA Moscow and Russia national team defender Kirill Nababkin expressed his views on the changes in the rosters of participants in the Russian Premier League, particularly regarding issues related to the "Khimki" and "Torpedo" teams. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
The decisions to replace these teams with others have caused various debates and discontent among clubs and fans. According to Nababkin, the Russian Football Union (RFU) approves the team rosters for the season, and the decisions are made specifically by them.
Everyone can have their opinion, but ultimately all matters are resolved by the RFU, says the former player. The "Khimki" team near Moscow was unable to obtain a license due to financial problems and withdrew from the Premier League.
In their place, the "Pari NN" team was included, which finished 13th last season and lost in additional matches. Additionally, although the Moscow "Torpedo" team secured second place in the first league PARI tournament, it was removed due to involvement in a match-fixing scandal.
In their place, the "Orenburg" team, which finished 15th in the Premier League last season, was included. These changes are causing certain shifts and discussions in Russian football.
