Football player Aleksey Sutormin commented on the news about the tightening of the limits on the number of legionnaires in the Russian Premier League (RPL). This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
Earlier, information spread that the Russian Ministry of Sports proposed to reduce the number of foreign players in the national championship. According to this proposal, clubs can have a total of 10 legionnaires, of which 5 can be on the field at the same time.
Sutormin said the following about these changes: "It makes no difference to me. It will be as it will be.
We will have higher authorities making decisions, they understand the situation better. I don't think there will be a big difference with the new limit."
Currently, Premier League clubs are allowed to register 13 foreign players on the official roster. On the field, there can be 8 legionnaires at the same time.
These new restrictions are aimed at reducing the number of players on the field and are expected to impact the development of football in the country.
