Manchester City announced through its official website that sports director Txiki Begiristain has left his position. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
This decision was not unexpected, as his departure from the club was announced last autumn. Txiki Begiristain worked at Manchester City for nearly 13 years.
He has been in the position of sports director since October 2012. During his tenure, the Manchester City team won 21 trophies.
These include seven English Premier League titles and the Champions League trophy. On September 14 of this year, a derby match will take place between Manchester City and Manchester United.
In this match, Txiki Begiristain will participate as an honorary guest, and special events will be organized in his honor. Additionally, the Manchester City team plans to present a film dedicated to Begiristain's career this autumn.
Ugu Viana has taken over the position of sports director at Manchester City. The club management wishes the new sports director success.
