Pavel Morozov, the owner of the "Akron" football club in Tolyatti, shared his thoughts on the competition with the "Krylya Sovetov" team in Samara. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
According to him, the competition arises naturally because these two clubs are located in the same area and are neighbors. Morozov emphasized that a regional derby has always been an interesting event, and it is difficult to find similar situations in other cities.
Besides Moscow, there are almost no such strong derbies in other cities. Morozov also mentioned that he hopes the competition will take place in a healthy environment, without envy and hostility.
In recent years, the "Akron" and "Krylya Sovetov" clubs have not only been participating under the same regional name but are also playing matches in the same stadium. This is further intensifying the competition between the two teams.
Morozov noted that the "Akron" club secured the ninth place in its first season in the Russian Premier League and plans to have its own stadium by 2030. Through this, the club aims to develop its independent infrastructure.
This competition is also expected to have a positive impact on the development of regional football.
