The former midfielder of the Russian national team and Spain's Celta club, Aleksandr Mostovoy, shared his thoughts on the coaching change at Moscow's CSKA team. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
According to Aleksandr Mostovoy, a month ago, very few people knew anything about CSKA's new head coach Fabio Chelestini. Now the team has won the Super Cup and achieved victory in several other important matches.
Some may consider these results to be the work of the previous coach Marko Nikolich. However, in Mostovoy's opinion, although Nikolich worked at CSKA for a year and contributed to the team, the current achievements are also a result of Chelestini's efforts.
The Serbian specialist Marko Nikolich managed the CSKA team during the 2024-2025 season. Under his leadership, the team secured third place in the Russian championship and won the Fonbet Russian Cup.
In the summer, Nikolich received an offer from Greece's AEK team and headed there. In his place, Swiss Fabio Chelestini was appointed as the head coach.
Chelestini is an experienced specialist who has won several trophies with the clubs Basel and Lucerne. He is currently working to take the CSKA team to a new level.
