Sergey Shavlo, who previously served as the general director of the Spartak team in the capital, commented on the first game of the team's new player Jedson Fernandes in the Russian Premier League. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
The Portuguese player took the field against the Akron team, representing the city of Tolyatti. According to Shavlo, Jedson was unable to fully show himself because there were new partners around him.
The ball did not reach him, and he needed to receive the ball higher up the field, under the attackers. Shavlo expressed these thoughts to the Bobsoccer.ru publication.
In the game against Akron, Fernandes was active in the first half and was substituted at halftime. The match took place at the stadium in Samara and ended in a 1:1 draw.
In the next round, Spartak will play away against the Lokomotiv team in the capital. It may take time for Jedson Fernandes to adapt to the team.
So far, he has not been able to fully demonstrate his potential. Experts believe that the player needs more time and mutual understanding with his partners to show his game.
Spartak fans are expecting good results from the new player.
