Club CEO Giovanni Carnevali announced this. According to him, the 31-year-old player is on the verge of signing a new contract.
Reports had emerged three months ago that negotiations had begun. At that time, it was said that Berardi could sign a new contract intended until 2028, with the possibility of extending it for another year.
Domenico Berardi has played 399 matches for "Sassuolo" so far. He has scored 148 goals and provided 108 assists for the team.
Last season, Berardi played a crucial role in helping "Sassuolo" win the Serie B championship and return to the top league. Thus, the experienced player remains an important asset for the club.
