Dmitriy Barannik, a former player of St. Petersburg's "Zenit" team, explained the reason for the team's uncertain performance at the beginning of the new season. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
According to him, the reason may be that the players have not fully recovered from the pre-season training or that the new players who have recently joined the team have not yet fully adapted. For reference, "Zenit" has accumulated five points in the first three rounds of the Russian championship and is currently positioned in the middle of the tournament table.
In the first round, the team defeated "Rostov" with a score of two to one in a tough match. In the second round, a draw was recorded in the game against "Rubin."
In the third round, "Zenit" faced Moscow's "CSKA" team at home. In the next round, "Zenit" will play away against the "Akhmat" team.
It is worth noting that recently Stanislav Cherchesov was appointed as the head coach of the "Akhmat" team. Therefore, the upcoming match is also expected to be challenging.
"Zenit" still has a lot of work to do to improve the new players and the overall condition of the team. Throughout the season, the team is expected to find its game and achieve high results.
