Brazil's Flamengo striker Mateus Gonsalves will not be moving to St. Petersburg's Zenit club this summer. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
Zenit's chairman Aleksandr Medvedev announced this. According to him, Gonsalves' name has not been included in the team roster, and no negotiations are taking place regarding this matter.
Previously, some media outlets reported that another Russian club, Moscow's CSKA, was also interested in adding the 19-year-old player to their squad. Mateus Gonsalves has played in 15 matches for his team in the Brazilian championship this season and has scored two goals.
According to experts from Transfermarkt, the player's market value is estimated to be five million euros. Thus, Gonsalves is not expected to join Zenit in the near future.
