The famous French sports journalist Herve Peno commented on the chances of Russian goalkeeper Matvey Safonov becoming the main goalkeeper for Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
According to him, Luka Chevalier is being considered as the number one goalkeeper at PSG. Peno also emphasized that the team is currently hopeful about the transfer of Gianluigi Donnarumma and is trying to sell him.
It is worth noting that Matvey Safonov moved to PSG from the Krasnodar team last summer. He has played in 17 matches across all competitions for the Parisians, keeping his goal intact seven times.
In the current transfer window, the French champions spent 40 million euros to acquire new goalkeeper Luka Chevalier. Additionally, the club also signed a free contract with Renato Marin.
Currently, there are five goalkeepers in the PSG squad. The club management wants to increase competition within the squad, and a final decision on who will be the main goalkeeper has not yet been made.
