Russian experienced specialist Valeriy Nepomnyashiy expressed his opinion about the future of goalkeeper Matvey Safonov, who is playing for the famous football club in Paris. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
According to him, Safonov's activity in Paris may not last long. The specialist emphasized that if Safonov is forced to sit on the bench as a second or third goalkeeper, then there is no point in staying at the club.
Additionally, Valeriy Nepomnyashiy noted that it is important for Safonov to have regular playing time in the main squad. For reference, during the current summer transfer window, the Paris club also added French goalkeeper Luka Shevalyeni to its ranks.
This means that the competition for Safonov will intensify. Safonov joined the Paris club last summer for 20 million euros.
He had signed a five-year labor contract with the club. Currently, his future in the team remains uncertain.
Experts speculate that a new phase in Safonov's career may begin.
