Eight Juventus fans detained ahead of the Turin derby

The situation unexpectedly escalated ahead of the Turin derby in the next round of Italy's Serie A. Zamin.uz reports on this.
Mass riots broke out between the die-hard fans of both clubs before the start of the uncompromising clash between Juventus and Torino. According to information distributed by the Gazzetta dello Sport publication, police officers detained eight Juventus fans who disturbed the peace as a result of clashes that broke out on the city streets.
Goal.com is reporting on this. As a result of the violent brawl between the fans, several people sustained various degrees of bodily injuries.
According to reports, the condition of one of the injured is assessed as critical. In order to strengthen security measures, the start time of the match scheduled for Sunday evening was delayed for a certain period.
Even when the players entered the field for their warm-up exercises, fans continued their protests, calling on their teams not to participate in the game. In an attempt to ease the situation and calm the fans, Juventus team captain Manuel Locatelli tried to communicate directly with the supporters.
However, the die-hard supporters threatened to storm the pitch if the match began. Consequently, for security reasons, the players were forced to temporarily return to the dressing room.
After prolonged negotiations and the intervention of law enforcement agencies, the sector allocated for visiting fans was completely evacuated. Finally, once all security measures were taken, the match kicked off at 21:50 local time.
For Juventus, which aims to secure a Champions League spot at the end of Serie A, a victory in this clash was as essential as water and air. Currently sitting in sixth place in the tournament table, the Turin side needs only a victory to overtake rivals such as Milan, Roma, and Como and enter the top four.
