"Milan" club wants to buy Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk

Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk faces a serious test regarding his future at Merseyside club, Zamin.uz reported.
The experienced Dutch defender’s current contract is set to expire in about a year, prompting several influential European clubs to consider adding him to their ranks. In particular, Milan have identified Van Dijk as a primary target to strengthen their defensive line.
This was reported by Goal.com. According to foreign public sources, Milan plans to completely renew its squad.
If this transfer materializes, Van Dijk could find himself playing alongside stars such as Christian Pulisic and Luka Modrić at the San Siro stadium. Such reports have caused significant concern among Liverpool fans, as the player’s departure could mean losing a key pillar of the team’s recent success.
Currently, a period of major changes is underway at Anfield. Shuffles in the coaching staff, along with the departures of key players like Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson, have noticeably affected the club’s overall atmosphere.
For the new managers, Van Dijk is not only a defensive bulwark but also a vital figure ensuring stability within the squad. Nevertheless, Liverpool Echo has denied these reports, emphasizing that the club’s leadership intends to retain the captain in the team.
However, the shortening of his contract and the player’s openness to new offers do not completely rule out the possibility of a transfer. It is also reported that, alongside Milan, Turkish club Fenerbahçe has shown interest in the defender.
Liverpool’s defensive issues are not limited to Van Dijk alone. Another defender, João Gomes, remains uncertain about his future and has yet to make a definitive decision.
Taking into account that Ibrahima Konate has already moved to another club, the departure of key defenders could leave the manager with only inexperienced young players. The situation in the central defense is also unstable.
Academy coach Curtis Jones has attracted serious interest from Inter Milan. While Liverpool values its player highly, the Italians have so far offered a lower amount.
At the same time, negotiations regarding a new contract with Jones have stalled.
