Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan plan to host the 2031 Asian Cup together

Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan want to host the 2031 Asian Cup together. This was reported by the Uzbekistan Football Association (UFA).

It was noted that the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has started reviewing candidates for hosting the Asian Cup, the most prestigious football tournament in Asia, in 2031. The football associations of Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan have put forward their joint candidacy, expressing confidence in hosting the Asian Cup at a high level.

"Today, Uzbekistan is fully prepared to host the prestigious tournament together with neighboring countries. Stadiums in cities such as Tashkent, Namangan, Fergana, and Karshi have been organized according to international standards. Additionally, in recent years, hosting the U-20 and U-23 tournaments in Asia, as well as the Futsal World Championship, has provided immense experience. Central Asia is ready to attract the attention of all of Asia with its hospitality, professional approach, dedication to football, and, of course, the love of football fans," the report states.

As of February 24, the UAE, Indonesia, and Kuwait have also submitted separate applications to host the 2031 Asian Cup.

The 2031 Asian Cup will be held for the 20th time, with 24 national teams participating in the tournament. The tournament, organized by the AFC since 1956, takes place every four years. In 2023, the competition was held in Qatar. In 2027, Saudi Arabia will host the tournament.

Prior to this, Uzbekistan has not hosted the AFC main tournament.
