Famous football expert Alexander Grigoryan shared his thoughts on how St. Petersburg's "Zenit" club should strengthen during the summer transfer window. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
He emphasized that the most important task for "Zenit" is to find a central midfielder, specifically a high-quality "number eight." Grigoryan sees the Brazilian player Jerson as exactly the high-level "number eight" they need.
He highlighted this point in an interview with the "Match TV" channel. It is worth noting that Jerson currently plays for Brazil's "Flamengo" club and is considered the main transfer target for "Zenit." Last season, "Zenit" was unable to secure the Russian championship and finished the competition in second place.
At the same time, the team, led by Sergey Semak, had won the Russian Premier League championship title consecutively for the previous six seasons. This situation indicates the need for significant updates for the club, especially regarding the strengthening of the central midfield position.
