The appellate court in Amsterdam extended Quincy Promes' detention and postponed the review of his case until 2026. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
In today's session, the former Moscow "Spartak" midfielder also participated. Promes denied the charges against him, but the investigative authorities are concerned about his potential flight from the Netherlands, so the court maintained the precautionary measures in place.
The court's decision stated: "No personal circumstances have been identified that would warrant release from custody." The reason for postponing the case until 2026 is that some investigative actions need to be conducted outside the Netherlands. It should be noted that Promes is accused of stabbing his brother and drug trafficking.
The Amsterdam district court sentenced him to a total of 7.5 years in prison. Recently, he played for the "Dubai United" club in the UAE, but was later extradited to his homeland.
