The contract between forward Timo Werner and RB Leipzig has been officially terminated. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
Last season, Werner played on loan at Tottenham in England. His performance did not convince the German club's management to extend the contract, and both parties decided to part ways.
According to Bild, Werner's current contract is still valid for another season, but the club is not considering him. He was even not invited to the team's pre-season friendly matches.
The German forward was once seen with great expectations. In the summer of 2020, Chelsea spent 53 million euros to acquire him.
However, those days are now behind, and Werner's career is not progressing as before. The club and the player decided to part ways by mutual agreement.
