
The leadership of the Russian Football Union, through Secretary General Maxim Mitrofanov, has reported that negotiations are underway with the United States Soccer Federation to hold a friendly match. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
According to Mitrofanov, negotiations are currently ongoing with all parties, but an official statement will only be made once a final agreement is reached. The Russian national team has played a total of five friendly matches against the American team.
All of these matches have been friendly in nature. The Russian team has won twice and drawn three times.
The last meeting took place in 2012 at the Kuban Stadium in Krasnodar, ending with a score of 2:2. Currently, the issue of organizing a new meeting between the football federations of the two countries is being discussed.
