Barannik: The championship will not be held with 15 teams

Dmitriy Barannik, a former midfielder who played for the "Zenit" team, commented on the participation of the "Orenburg" team in the new RPL season. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.

According to him, such a situation is unusual and everyone should understand this well. Barannik emphasized that it is impossible to hold a championship with 15 teams, so someone had to participate.

The Russian Football Union decided to return "Orenburg," which finished in 15th place last season and was supposed to drop out of the championship, to the RPL. This decision was made due to the controversy surrounding the Moscow "Torpedo" team.

The management of this club attempted to influence the results of their team's games by bribing referees. As a result, "Orenburg" will participate in the RPL in the new season.
