Former CSKA player Aleksandr Grishin commented on the level of the defense line of Moscow "Spartak" team. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
According to him, the main problem of the "Spartak" team is in defense, and only Srdjan Babich can show a strong performance in the defense line. Other players do not match the level required for the championship fight.
If the defense is good, the team always has the opportunity to score 1-2 goals, Grishin said in an interview with "Match TV". Last season, the "red-whites" conceded 25 goals in 30 matches in the Russian Premier League.
As a result, the team finished the championship in fourth place, falling behind "Zenit", CSKA, and "Krasnodar". Before the current season, "Spartak" signed a contract with only one player – forward Anton Zabolotniy.
At the same time, the team parted ways with central defender Abena. These changes are expected to impact the efforts to strengthen the team's defense line.
Overall, "Spartak" is striving to resolve issues in defense and regain strength.
