Which team suits Abduvohid Ne’matov: “Zenit”, “Spartak” or “Krasnodar”?
Abduvohid Ne’matov, the goalkeeper of the Uzbekistan national team and “Nasaf” club, gave an interview to the prestigious Russian source – “Match TV”.
— Who would you highlight from the Russian national team?
— I know Igor Akinfeev, but he is not playing for the national team. I remember well that he saved a penalty in the match against Spain at the World Cup. Last year, in the match against the Spaniards at the Olympic Games, I also saved a penalty just like him.
— Does Akinfeev belong to the top goalkeepers in the world?
— I think he definitely belongs to the “Top-10”. Abbosbek Fayzullayev has said many good things about him.
— Didn’t you ask for his jersey?
— I would really like to have it; I will have to ask Abbos.
— What’s great about Fayzullayev?
— A top player, very technical. He is the “Uzbek Messi”.
— You have played against the Russian national team. Do you remember that match?
— In the game in Tashkent, the score was 0-0. Russia is a very strong team with great players. It wasn’t easy back then, but the match went well. I would be happy if another game could be organized with your team.
— Have you ever been invited to play in Russia?
— No, if there is an offer, I will think about it.
— “Zenit”, “Spartak” or “Krasnodar”. Does it matter who invites you?
— First, I need to receive a clear offer, then we will make a decision.
Abduvohid Ne’matov is a graduate of the “Nasaf” club. Currently, he is one of the most talented goalkeepers in Uzbek football. The 23-year-old goalkeeper has participated in 139 matches at the club level and has scored two goals in the Uzbekistan Super League. Abduvohid has conceded 105 goals in matches, managing to keep his goal intact in 66 competitions.
Ne’matov has guarded the goal in a total of 26 international matches for Uzbekistan U-19, Uzbekistan U-23, and the Uzbekistan Olympic national teams. He has been a member of our national team since 2020. So far, he has played in seven international matches, not allowing the opponent to score in two of them.
Abduvohid Ne’matov's current contract with “Nasaf” will last until December 31 of this year. Experts from the Transfermarkt portal have estimated the transfer value of the talented goalkeeper at 1.5 million euros.
