The leadership of the "Ural" team from Yekaterinburg, particularly the team president Grigoriy Ivanov, commented on the decision of the Russian Football Union (RFS) to replace the Moscow "Torpedo" team with "Orenburg". This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
Previously, a controversy arose related to the attempts of the "Torpedo" team leadership to organize match-fixing. As a result, "Torpedo" was expelled from the Russian Premier League, but retained the right to participate in the PARI First League.
According to Ivanov, this decision by the RFS is illogical and incorrect. He emphasized that there was no clear and understandable explanation provided during the decision-making process.
Last season, the "Ural" team secured fourth place in the league table and was defeated in the playoff matches against "Akhmat" at the end of the games. These circumstances provided important experience for the team and create opportunities for achieving even stronger results in the future.
