Belous: Zenit needs to strengthen its defense

Former president of the Moscow football club, Yuri Belous, shared his thoughts on the activity of St. Petersburg's Zenit team in the transfer market. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.

He expressed surprise upon hearing about the club's intention to acquire a forward from South America. According to Belous, the Zenit team should focus on strengthening its defense rather than boosting its attacking line.

He also spoke about Sobolev's future. Emphasizing that Sobolev is a strong forward, he stated the necessity of keeping him in the team.

He added that the new season will be important for Aleksandr. Last season, the 28-year-old player moved from Spartak to Zenit, scoring 7 goals and providing 3 assists in 32 matches across all competitions.

The Transfermarkt portal values him at 6 million euros. During this season, Zenit added defender Roman Vega (Argentinos Juniors) and midfielder Jerson (Flamengo) to their ranks.

These transfers are expected to play a significant role in the team's future activities.
