The exact date of Eid al-Fitr in Uzbekistan has not yet been officially announced. The date is determined by the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan based on the sighting of the moon, Uz24.uz reported.
According to the preliminary calendar, Eid al-Fitr was initially estimated to fall on March 31, Monday. However, in neighboring Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan, Ramadan lasts for 29 days, and Eid was announced to be on March 30, Sunday.
If Eid is also determined to be on March 30 in Uzbekistan, according to Article 208 of the Labor Code, Monday, March 31, will be designated as a day off instead of Sunday (the holiday).
Thus, the holidays will be as follows:
March 29 (Saturday): day off for 5-day workers, working day for 6-day workers;
March 30 (Sunday): Eid al-Fitr holiday;
March 31 (Monday): official day off moved due to the holiday.
