A new procedure will be introduced in the process of registering marriages in Uzbekistan. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to the decree signed by the President on September 8, titled “On additional measures to improve the system of providing public services and to radically reduce bureaucratic procedures in the sector,” from December 1, 2025, civil status registration authorities will no longer require a medical examination certificate from individuals getting married. This was reported by kursiv.media.
With the introduction of the new procedure, bureaucratic obstacles in marriage registration will be reduced. Previously, young people entering into marriage were required to provide a certificate confirming they had undergone a medical examination.
Now, this requirement will be abolished. This change will save young people time and money and make life easier.
The decree not only addresses the issue of marriage but also aims at digitizing and simplifying public services. According to the document, by 2028, the number of services provided through the Unified Interactive Public Services Portal (my.gov.uz) and public service centers will reach 900.
Additionally, proactive public services will increase to 53, and composite public services will rise to 74. These figures are aimed at making public services more convenient and efficient for citizens.
Furthermore, from December 1, 2025, several excessive requirements will be abolished through inter-agency information exchange. These include the obligation to submit a medical certificate when registering a marriage, the requirement to bring a separate certificate to civil status registration authorities when divorcing based on a court decision, and the condition to indicate the owner's address in the vehicle registration certificate.
These changes are an important step towards further simplifying public services and creating convenience for citizens. Source: kursiv.media.
