The government of Uzbekistan has adopted a new decision aimed at improving burial processes. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to this decision, burial operations in the country will be gradually digitized. These changes are aimed at ensuring transparency in the sector and strengthening control.
Based on the decision, permission to bury a deceased person, registration, and monitoring of this process will be carried out through a special electronic information system. This system will speed up document processing, reduce human error, and consolidate all data in a single database.
At the same time, by June 1, 2026, a special module — "Unified electronic register of burial operations" — is planned to be developed within the "FHDYO unified electronic archive" system. Using this module, cemeteries, permits, and all other information will be maintained electronically.
A mobile application for the module is also planned to be developed. Additionally, starting from March 1, 2026, after the death of a person is registered, their relatives will automatically receive a QR-coded certificate via their personal accounts on My.gov.uz.
This certificate will have the status of an official document, reducing additional paperwork. From July 1 to December 31, 2026, the new system will be introduced on a trial basis in Tashkent city.
During this period, cemetery managers will grant burial permissions only through the electronic system or mobile application. The practice of paper-based registration will be completely abolished.
This government decision aims to strengthen order and discipline in the sector, reduce the risk of corruption, and increase transparency of services. The introduction of the electronic system will create convenience for the population, enable quick access to necessary information, and enhance the automation of public services.
With the full implementation of the new system, a unified standard and modern control system is expected to be established throughout Uzbekistan. Source: Zamin.uz.
