New regulations and rules aimed at improving the social protection system have been introduced in Uzbekistan. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
From now on, creating suitable conditions for persons with disabilities in urban planning documents has been established as a mandatory requirement. If a project is approved without considering this requirement, it will lead to administrative liability.
Providing a positive conclusion on such projects by expert organizations is also considered a violation of the law and is subject to responsibility. According to the new legislation, persons guilty of such violations will be fined up to 50-70 times the base calculation amount.
These measures are regarded as an important step towards making urban infrastructure convenient and accessible for all citizens. Additionally, obstructing the activities of the National Social Protection Agency and its branches or failing to comply with their requirements will also result in liability.
In such cases, citizens may be fined up to 3-5 times the base calculation amount, while officials may face fines up to 5-10 times that amount. Failure to provide the benefits established by law for persons in need of social protection will not go unpunished either.
For such violations, responsible persons will be fined up to 3-5 times the base calculation amount. Another new provision exempts charitable donations given by sponsor organizations to families registered in the social protection registry (up to 100 times the base calculation amount) from income tax.
This decision serves to encourage sponsorship in supporting needy families. A state fee amounting to 50 percent of the current rate will be charged for the state registration of public organizations that protect the interests of persons with disabilities, veterans, women, and children.
Furthermore, to organize the social protection system more effectively, the National Social Protection Agency has been granted the authority to process data for the purpose of providing social services and assistance. These changes are aimed at developing the system openly and oriented towards human interests.
