Local government activities will be digitized and simplified

Important tasks have been set to improve the activities of local government bodies in Uzbekistan's development strategy until 2030. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Within the framework of this strategy, special attention is paid to increasing the effectiveness and accountability of local councils, turning them into the main institution representing the interests of the population. According to clause 364 of the program, it is planned to improve five legislative documents to effectively organize the activities of local councils.
This aims to expand the powers of representative bodies, strengthen control mechanisms, and make public communication more effective. Additionally, clause 365 stipulates the full digitization of local councils' activities.
Through this process, the goal is to organize decision-making, discussions, and control-analysis work transparently and promptly. This will contribute to expanding an open information environment for the population.
The strategy highlights the renewal and modernization of local government executive bodies as a priority direction. According to clause 366, it is planned to transfer documents prepared by governors and their deputies entirely to the E-decision electronic system.
This will convert document circulation into electronic form, reduce paperwork, and simplify processes. Furthermore, clause 367 sets the task of transferring about 50 functions at the republican level to local executive government bodies annually.
This allows for faster resolution of problems in the regions and brings decisions closer to the population. Clause 368 assigns the task of simplifying processes, reducing required documents, and increasing service speed by adhering to the "zero bureaucracy" principle.
According to clause 369, it is planned to introduce more than 20 electronic systems related to various sectors into the activities of local administrations. This will serve to strengthen data exchange and monitoring mechanisms in regional governance.
