Due to heavy rains expected from June 6 to 9 in several regions of Uzbekistan, flood flows and waterlogging may occur in mountainous and foothill areas. This was reported by the press service of "Uzgidromet".
Experts emphasize that as a result of intense rainfall, the water levels in rivers and streams in the mountains may rise sharply, the soil cover may soften, and there is a possibility of various flooding and flood events.
In Kashkadarya region: The districts of Yakkabog‘, Dehqonobod, Chiroqchi, Kitob, Shahrisabz, Qamashi, and G‘uzor are included in the list of hazardous areas.
In Surxondaryo region: Caution is also required in the districts of Sariosiyo, Uzun, Oltinsoy, Denov, Boysun, Sherobod, Sho‘rchi, Qumqo‘rg‘on, and Muzrabot.
In Samarkand region: The districts of Urgut, Samarkand, Bulung‘ur, Nurobod, Qo‘shrabot, Kattaqo‘rg‘on, Payariq, Jomboy, and Ishtixon are listed as areas with a high probability of flooding.
In Navoi region: Residents of the districts of Xatirchi, Navbahor, Nurota, Konimex, and Karmana have been warned about the flood risk.
In Jizzakh region: It is also necessary to maintain vigilance in the districts of Zomin, Baxmal, G‘allaorol, Sharof Rashidov, Forish, and Yangiobod.
In Tashkent region: Residents and tourists in the districts of Ohangaron, Bo‘stonliq, Parkent, Piskent, O‘rta Chirchiq, Yuqori Chirchiq, as well as in the cities of Angren and Olmaliq are advised to take precautions.
In Namangan region: There is also a flood risk in the districts of Pop, Kosonsoy, Chortoq, Chust, Namangan, and Yangiqo‘rg‘on.
In Fergana region: Caution is required in the districts of So‘x, Farg‘ona, Beshariq, and Shohimardon.
In Andijan region: Residents of the districts of Andijan, Asaka, Jalaquduq, Qo‘rg‘ontepa, Paxtaobod, Izboskan, Xo‘jaobod, Marhamat, and the city of Xonobod should remain alert.
Citizens living in mountainous and foothill areas, tourists on vacation, and drivers on the roads need to increase their caution and take necessary safety measures.
Experts particularly emphasize that in some areas, heavy rainfall may lead to water accumulation and flooding in populated areas, urging everyone to remain vigilant.
