The procedure for registering citizens, foreigners, and stateless persons by their place of residence and stay in Uzbekistan has been established by law. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The Ministry of Justice announced this. According to the law, if someone provides a house or apartment for others to live in, it is mandatory for them to register the residents in a timely manner.
This requirement applies to the owner of the house or individuals who have the right to use it. Additionally, temporary residents, such as those staying in hotels or hostels, will be registered through the E-guest system.
Uzbek citizens living abroad permanently must register within 10 working days after returning to the country. Registration by place of residence is carried out at the departments of migration and citizenship of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, at public service centers, and online through the my.gov.uz portal.
When registering, the established social norm for living space is taken into account. This procedure has been introduced to protect citizens' rights and to clearly define the place of residence.
