Zelenskiy: “The Silence in the Sky” is the first step towards peace
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called on international partners to increase pressure on Moscow after Russia's large-scale attacks on Ukraine's infrastructure. He emphasized that Ukraine is ready for peace and has wanted this since the first day of the war.

Russia's Large-Scale Attacks

Zelensky stated that on the night of March 7, the Russian army carried out another major airstrike on Ukraine. As part of these attacks, nearly 70 cruise and ballistic missiles and about 200 attack drones were used by Russia.

“All strikes are aimed solely at infrastructure facilities serving the civilian population. Russia's refusal to stop the war poses a threat to the entire world. Therefore, the international community must increase pressure on Moscow,” Zelensky said.

“Silence in the Sky and at Sea” – the Path to Peace

The Ukrainian president emphasized that the first step towards peace is to force Russia to stop its attacks in Ukraine.

“Silence in the sky means banning the use of missiles, unmanned drones, and aerial bombs. Silence at sea guarantees the safe conduct of cargo transportation and economic activities. If such measures are not taken, there can be no talk of peace,” Zelensky said.

Attacks on Ukraine's Energy Infrastructure

In Russia's recent attacks, Ukraine's energy network suffered significant damage. Energy infrastructure was damaged in the Poltava, Odessa, and Ternopil regions. Additionally, Russian forces targeted major attacks on gas production facilities.

Ukraine's air defense used Mirage-2000 French fighter jets against these attacks. These were delivered to Ukraine by France a month ago.

The war between Russia and Ukraine is escalating further. Zelensky sees ensuring security in the sky and at sea as the first step towards achieving peace. However, Russia's continued attacks on Ukraine's infrastructure complicate the prospects for peace negotiations.

Currently, Ukraine is demanding the international community to increase pressure on Russia and take measures to stop the war. The future development of this war may depend on international political agreements.
