The South Korean prosecution has released President Yoon Suk Yeol

The South Korean prosecutor has released Yoon Suk Yeol, who was arrested on charges of rebellion due to the declaration of a short-term military state in the country.

According to reports from Yonhap, the prosecutor expressed concerns that the president, while being free after a court decision that canceled the arrest warrant, might attempt to destroy evidence and meet with individuals related to the case. However, they have now decided not to appeal the court's decision.

According to available information, Yoon Suk Yeol has already left the investigation detention center. He was welcomed by his supporters.

The Seoul Central District Court decided yesterday to cancel the detention and release Yoon Suk Yeol. The judges found that the prosecutors had delayed several hours in filing formal charges regarding the rebellion.

In mid-January, the High Anti-Corruption Investigation Agency arrested Yoon Suk Yeol on charges of rebellion against the constitutional order due to the military state events. Subsequently, the Western District Court of Seoul decided to detain him.
