What is the reason for Trump's team representatives to meet with former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko?
Shuhrat Rasul: We know that the relations between Trump and Zelensky are cold. The purpose of the Americans meeting with Yulia Tymoshenko or Poroshenko is a specific call to Zelensky, and many experts are saying that elections may now take place in Ukraine.
However, no matter how much Poroshenko opposes Zelensky, he stated that in the current situation, it is acceptable to support the country's leader, noting that elections were not held during the war. At the same time, he indicated that he did not discuss any actions against Zelensky with the US.
Additionally, Valeriy Zaluzhnyi, who has his own standing among the people, also supported the country's unity, criticizing Trump's policy and demonstrating Ukraine's solidarity to the world.
Isn't it more appropriate for Europe to spend this money on NATO rather than rearmament for 800 billion dollars?
Oybek Sirojov: It is intended that such a large amount is being spent to create a security umbrella to replace the US, and at least 10 years will be needed for such a platform.
In any case, the European Union understands that proposals are being put forward to allocate funds for security-related issues and to strengthen capabilities in this area.
For example, the new Chancellor of Germany, Mers, is emphasizing the same point in his speeches. We can see that France is also making initiatives in this regard.
Abduvali Soyibnazarov: There are disagreements within the European Union, for example, countries like Hungary and Slovakia may not reach a consensus in decision-making due to their pro-Moscow stance.
Economic factors may lead to divisions within the union. Major economies like France, Germany, and Italy may support such initiatives. However, I think that Central and Eastern European countries rely more on and trust the United States than the European Union. From this perspective, they still seem to favor remaining under the security umbrella of the United States.
