Microsoft will pay a former employee $632,000 in compensation for being dismissed from the job. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to information published on the Blind forum, cited by Pravilamag publication, a specialist who worked at the company for about 24 years applied for compensation and additional rewards after being laid off.
A part of the paid amount was given as severance pay and unemployment benefits for his long years of service. The largest portion consisted of $350,000 worth of shares provided under the company’s “15/55 Pension Fund Plan.”
The forum expressed various opinions about this payment. Some users noted that this amount was insufficient for 24 years of service and even surprising.
Others said that the company had properly incentivized the employee who was close to retirement. This case sparked interesting discussions about employer-employee relations and compensation systems.
Microsoft’s compensation to the former employee once again highlighted issues related to job market positions and labor rights.
