The Egyptian government recently revived the initiative to establish a new military alliance among Arab states. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This alliance could be conditionally called the "Arab NATO." This was reported by the World Israel News publication.
According to information, this idea was first proposed about nine years ago but was not implemented. Recently, especially after Israel's military actions against Qatar, this issue has become relevant again.
According to Cairo's proposal, if the new alliance is formed, Egypt is ready to deploy about 20,000 military personnel to it. Additionally, a special mechanism that can be used when necessary will be developed.
This mechanism will be organized in a way suitable for the armies and populations of the Arab states. According to an unnamed Egyptian official, Egypt will take the leading role in managing this military union.
Saudi Arabia will be next in line, followed by one of the Gulf states participating as a key partner. In this way, Cairo aims to enhance its geopolitical position by uniting the Arab states in the region into a single defense system.
This initiative is expected to serve the strengthening of regional stability and security.
