The campaign's former treasurer Éric Woerth and two other individuals were found not guilty. The investigation into illegal financing began in 2013.
The main source of the accusations was businessman Ziad Takieddine, who claimed that Libya financed the 2007 elections. During the trial, evidence from all parties was reviewed and a final verdict was issued.
