Do women also serve in the army in Ukraine?
Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Pavel Palisa stated that mandatory military service should be introduced for women as well.

In an interview with Bihus.Info, he based this proposal on the experience of Israel. According to Palisa, the threat from Russia will remain for many years and may continue for 10 to 30 years.

– Military service should be a mandatory concept for everyone in society, not just for men, – he said.

Palisa emphasized that there is a provision in the Constitution regarding service and it should also apply to women.

– If citizens receive education funded by the state or require a position, they must have served in the army, – he said.

According to reports, there are currently 68,000 women in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, of which 48,000 are military personnel, and nearly 5,000 women are in combat zones.

Palisa mentioned that this is his personal opinion and that the presidential administration does not guarantee support for this opinion.
