Waymo driverless taxi broke the rule, no fine
A taxi that violated traffic rules in San Bruno, California, USA was stopped by the police. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

However, experienced inspectors were surprised because the vehicle belonged to the Waymo company and was a self-driving, driverless taxi. This was reported by The Guardian.

According to information shared by law enforcement on social media, during a raid when police were checking for drunk drivers, the taxi made a turn at a red traffic light. Therefore, a fine was expected, but since there is no procedure in the legislation for imposing fines on "robots" or driverless systems, no document was issued.

The police officially informed Waymo about this malfunction and hope to reprogram the vehicles to prevent such incidents in the future. The company stated that its autonomous driving system was developed taking traffic rules into account, with special attention to safety, and that this situation is being thoroughly investigated.

Experts emphasize that this incident highlights the need to develop new rules and regulations in the legal field alongside the development of driverless technologies. Thus, it has become clear that in the future, the legal aspects of automated vehicles must be regulated more perfectly.
