Greta Tunberg Said She Was Tortured in Israel
Swedish eco-activist Greta Tunberg strongly complained about the conditions of the place where she was held after being detained in Israel. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

According to The Guardian, the cell where Tunberg was held contained bedbugs, and she was not provided with sufficient water and food. This information was obtained based on correspondence with Swedish officials.

A representative of the Swedish embassy personally visited the place where Tunberg was held and saw the situation. In an email sent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the representative emphasized that the activist was subjected to cruel treatment and was forced to sit on a hard surface for a long time.

Tunberg reported experiencing signs of dehydration and stated that the rash on her body might have been caused by the bedbugs. The correspondence also includes claims that security forces forced Greta to pose for a photo with the Israeli flag.

Malaysian activist Hazvani Helmi and American Windfield Beaver claimed they were also forced to kiss the flag. However, these reports have not been fully confirmed by independent sources.

Italian journalist Lorenzo Agostino sharply criticized this situation, emphasizing that humiliating the 22-year-old activist and wrapping her in a flag as a symbol of victory is contrary to human values. In his opinion, the incident raises important questions about human rights and dignity.

Greta Tunberg was part of the Global Sumud Flotilla, which included 437 activists, parliamentarians, and lawyers heading to the Gaza region. The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs considers the flotilla to be connected with the Palestinian Hamas group, but the organizers deny these claims.

According to the official timeline, on October 1, the flotilla's route was blocked. On October 3, several activists were expelled from the country, and on October 4, another 137 people were deported to Istanbul.

Official information about the remaining participants is being updated. The Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs continues consular oversight.

Although the parties express different views in their official statements, some claims have not yet been officially confirmed. Therefore, all information is currently being thoroughly verified, and the results are expected to be announced in the coming days.
