The Council of Scholars of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Russian Federation has adopted a new fatwa for Muslim couriers. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to this fatwa, transporting and delivering products that contradict Islamic religious rules is strictly prohibited. In particular, it is forbidden to deliver alcoholic beverages, pork, meat from animals not slaughtered according to Sharia, items related to gambling, and other haram products.
The fatwa also states that if a courier delivers products without knowing what is inside the shipment or if the haram products are being transported for the purpose of destruction, this situation is not considered a sin. The list of permitted products includes meat from animals slaughtered in a halal manner, grain products, milk and dairy products, fruits, vegetables, clothing, household appliances, construction materials, furniture, books, medicines, and medical instruments.
If an order contains a mixture of halal and haram products, it is recommended that the courier donate a certain portion of the income as charity. According to the administration's statement, if the courier is not fully aware of the order's contents, their activity is not considered contrary to Sharia; however, knowingly delivering prohibited products would violate Islamic rules.
This fatwa was adopted to ensure honesty and adherence to religious rules in the labor activities of Muslims.
